Volunteer for us
Interested in becoming a volunteer with Dementia Australia in New South Wales? Volunteering is a great way to meet people, raise awareness of dementia and provide valuable support for our organisation. We have a number of volunteering opportunities including:
Special Fundraising and Awareness Events
We hold a number of major fundraising and awareness events such as our Memory Walk & Jog in Sydney and other regional areas. These short term special events require large numbers of volunteers on the day and often some support leading up to the event. There is also an opportunity for hands on experience in event planning and organising.
As an associated charity, Dementia Australia provides volunteers to assist organisers at running events such as the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival. So if you are only available on weekends and if you love to be involved in major events that are lots of fun, these volunteering opportunities are for you.
During Dementia Awareness Month in September we hold our annual Collection Day. We require hundreds of volunteers to join us at major train stations and transport hubs around Sydney to collect donations on our behalf so we continue to fight dementia.
Throughout the year, special Dementia Australia events and localised community events such as A Night to Remember Gala Dinner, Tulip Time Festival and the Fusion Foundation Ball all require volunteers to provide support.
All these events raise the awareness of dementia in our society and provide valuable ongoing funding to our organisation.
All areas within our organisation need and utilise Administration volunteers, including: Events, Fundraising, Corporate Services and Helpline. So if you would love to assist with some administration work in our wonderful offices just call!
Volunteering opportunities vary throughout the year so if there is not an opening straight away we will keep your details and contact you when something becomes available.
