Walk to make a difference
ACT Memory Walk and Jog, 8am on Sunday 17 September at the Lennox Gardens in Yarralumla.
Thank you for your support leading up to our major fundraising event, the 2017 Memory Walk and Jog. While we are on our way to reaching our target of $50,000, we want to encourage walkers and joggers everywhere to sign up and participate.
For all participants, we encourage you to just share share share with friends and on social media to fundraise for our families living with dementia.
If you are looking at this page, it is quite likely that your personal life has been impacted or touched by dementia, or that you work in a related industry. Either way, you know first hand that dementia is a difficult journey and that it can affect any family without apparent warning or reason. Your fundraising efforts will help us to help people with a diagnosis to live full and meaningful lives shared within a community of support. This is a cause worth giving to.
Our top fundraiser so far is Jan Field at $1580. Jan has been personally impacted by a close diagnosis of dementia, and this 5km for the Memory Walk and Jog will be the farthest she has walked since her knee replacement in March. Jan is a great advocate for Alzheimer's Austalia ACT and she urges us all to give whatever support we can: to walk, jog, fundraise, donate, cheer from the sidelines, volunteer, sponsor or create a dementia friendly workplace.
Keep up the great fundraising work Jan, and well done to everybody for your efforts to date!
