It is quite common for people with dementia to have difficulty with, or forget about, personal hygiene.

Although this can be upsetting for families and carers, working out ways of coping without argument or confrontation can be worthwhile.

For the November Pick of the Month, the Dementia Australia Librarians have chosen "Bathing Without a Battle".

This resource presents an individualised, problem-solving approach to bathing and personal care of individuals with dementia and covers topics such as managing pain, skin care and the physical environment of the bathroom.
