Alzheimer’s Australia National President and 2013 Australian of The Year, Ita Buttrose, was one of four judges on the panel today at the Sydney Writers Festival. She along with Richard Glover, Susan Duncan and Jacqueline Kent awarded the Finch Memoir Award for 2013 to Marie Williams for her book Green Vanilla Tea.

Marie writes about her husband living with a chronic disease, and the love and struggle she and the family felt during its progression.

‘This book sensitively brings to life the heartache, humour and love that’s involved in living with dementia.’ Ita Buttrose, AO, OBE, President of Alzheimer’s Australia.
