Dementia Australia is saddened to learn of the passing of Emeritus Professor Hal Kendig.

Dementia Australia CEO, Maree McCabe said Professor Kendig was a highly respected Life Member of the Australian Association of Gerontology, a passionate researcher, and a transdisciplinary scholar.

“His role in advocating for the rights and needs of older people and supporting an approach to living well as we age is to be commended,” she said.

“Professor Kendig was a man of immense presence who contributed a huge amount, nationally and regionally, to our knowledge and more importantly our wisdom about ageing.”

Dementia Australia would like to express their sincere condolences to Professor Kendig’s family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.
