New Videos

Two new additions to our Video Gallery this month are Buddies and It’s not a disgrace … it’s dementia - Italian.

The Buddy Program from Dementia Australia Tasmania involves a Buddy accompanying a person with Younger Onset Dementia to attend activities in the community and to become a volunteer (if they wish) of their own choosing (e.g., helping at a café, community garden or animal shelter).

Video It's not a disgrace ItalianIt’s not a disgrace … it’s dementia - Italian

This is a short film to raise awareness, reduce stigma and dispel myths about dementia within the Italian speaking community. The film features carers of people living with dementia giving personal accounts, in their own language, of their experience.

Community Cafe ToolkitNew Resources

Community Café Toolkit.

Your manual and tools for establishing a café for people living with dementia has everything you need to establish and run a community cafe in your area.

The toolkit contains a manual with instructions on ‘how to’ establish and run a community café in your region, and tools to assist you in getting started and to assist in the day-to-day running of your café.
