This session provides information specific to younger people diagnosed with dementia and their carers, exploring the unique impacts of younger onset dementia.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist knowledge, skills and experience in younger onset dementia and NDIS. This session is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • types of younger onset dementia, signs and symptoms 
  • the experience of living with dementia 
  • effective communication strategies and support.

Suitable for: People living with younger onset dementia and their family carers and family members. 

This session is intended for people aged under 65, who may be seeking or have received a diagnosis of dementia.

This session can be delivered on behalf of aged care and disability service providers onsite to people living with dementia and their families. If you would like to discuss onsite delivery, please contact the National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500. 

This session is not suitable for professional carers or people employed in the health or aged care industries. The resources, content and delivery will not meet the needs of professionals.
