Dementia Australia’s Purpose

To transform the experience of people impacted by dementia by elevating their voices and inspiring excellence in support and care free from discrimination.

One of the things that I have learnt managing our community care program, Everybody Counts when it was launched in 2006, is the importance of listening to our people who by a survey told us the causes they were passionate about. Alzheimer’s Australia (now Dementia Australia) was selected as an original charity partner in 2006. Our people told us that they had concerns about the mental health issues confronting our population.

As we are aware dementia is a growing health risk within our community and it is important to support an organisation such as Dementia Australia and we have been partners for 14 years and thus far our people still want to support this cause.

The work that Dementia Australia does is outstanding and this organisation contributes to the wellbeing of all Australians.
