Brain Awareness Week

Your Brain Matters this Brain Awareness Week

Did you know what’s good for your heart is also good for your brain? Did you also know that dementia is not a normal part of ageing and there are things you can do to reduce your risk of dementia? Brain Awareness Week is being held from 14-21 March 2016, so mark that in your diary and head to yourbrainmatters.org.au to see what you can do to improve your brain health.

There are five simple steps we can all take now to reduce our risk of dementia in the future. To lead a brain healthy lifestyle we all need to look after our brain, body and heart.

You can do that in five simple steps:

  • Step One - Look after your heart
  • Step Two - Be physically active
  • Step Three - Mentally challenge your brain
  • Step Four - Follow a healthy diet
  • Step Five - Enjoy social activity

If you are looking for fun ways to boost your brain power why not try a quiz or pledge to do the 21 day brain challenge - learn a new skill or step-up your physical activity for 21 days? Challenge your friends and spend the next 21 days enjoying your new experience.
