Researchers at The Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania with the support of Glenview Aged Care Services are seeking research participants. The study is investigating expectations of people living with dementia and their family members or close friends in relation to the development of Korongee – an aged care village development focused on meeting the needs of people living with dementia in small houses. The village is currently being built.
Eligible participants will be invited to take part in three one hour focus groups held over 8 weeks or so. You will be asked to describe how you would like people in the village to care for the residents, and what expectations you have. Over time we will explore the potential model of care and identify any key criteria to be addressed. The research findings will be used to assist Glenview as they transition to delivery of care in the village setting to meet the needs of people living with dementia and their family members or close friends
We are thus looking to recruit people who meet the following criteria:
- Live in Tasmania
- Are aged 18 and above
Please note if you are unable to participate in an on line focus group we can also offer an interview on the phone with a researcher or provide a series of questions for you to respond to on paper. Your voice is very important to us.
There are no costs associated with participation in this research study, nor will you be paid.
For further information or to participate, please contact Dr Helen Courtney-Pratt on 0460 741 959 or at [email protected]
