This research addresses a major unmet need for an early, systematic approach to identify physical activity needs for people with living with mild dementia, and embed referral pathways and training opportunities for exercise leaders to support improved physical activity options.
In this project, we will co-design a new model of care, "Changing the Focus" with people with a lived experience of dementia and, other key stakeholders. Our goal is to determine what factors may assist physical activity referrers and providers, and people living with dementia to engage in physical activity and to design resources that will facilitate this.
For this study, we are seeking both people living with dementia and carers for people living with dementia to participate in three meetings to work together to design options, pathways and resources to promote physical activity participation in people living with mild dementia.
You may be eligible if you:
- are living with dementia OR currently care for someone living with dementia
- live in Frankston or Mornington Peninsula region of Victoria Melbourne
What does participation involve?
- Attend three meetings each of 2 hours in duration (with a 15-minute break) between March and June 2023.
- Read materials in between the meetings
