Dementia Alliance International is a collaboration of like-minded individuals diagnosed with dementia providing a unified voice of strength, advocacy, and support in the fight for individual autonomy for people with dementia.
Dementia Alliance International was established in January 2014 to promote education and awareness about dementia – in order to eradicate stigma and discrimination – and to improve the quality of the lives of people with dementia.
The aim is to bring the community composed of those with dementia together as one strong voice to urge the government, private sector, and medical professionals to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global crisis. It is our firm belief that working together, we will identify concrete action for implementation with the international community, and in the process, ensure our human rights are being fully met.
Dementia Australia and Dementia Alliance International are working together in a strategic partnership to ensure that there is optimal support for people with dementia, families and carers/care partners. Through this unique collaboration, we collectively aim to more positively support people in Australia after they receive a diagnosis of dementia.

Dementia Alliance International peer-to-peer support groups
Dementia Alliance International provides a unique peer support service specifically for people diagnosed with any type of dementia, which complements the suite of services and educational support provided by Dementia Australia.
The Dementia Alliance International peer-to-peer support program offers people with dementia access to small groups of people with a diagnosis of a dementia, who meet regularly to discuss their experiences and problems but also their strategies for coping with the diagnosis and living more positively with dementia. There are a number of different types of support groups available in Australia, but the ones Dementia Alliance International provides are weekly online peer-to-peer support groups, along with one-to-one buddying and mentoring.
