Dementia Awareness Month
Dementia Awareness Month is an annual series of events organised by Dementia Australia Tasmania (AAT) and supported by the Australian Government to improve awareness and understanding about dementia in the Tasmanian community.
During this month we focus on people with dementia, their carers and the general public by sharing the facts, dispelling the myths and highlighting the support AAT can provide to people living with dementia and those caring for them.
AAT is the peak body in the state for people with dementia, their families and carers. It provides advocacy, respite care and other support services, education and information throughout the state.
The theme for Dementia Awareness Month 2017 is You are not alone. This theme aims to raise awareness of the support and services available for people with dementia and their families and carers.
There are activities being planned for Dementia Awareness Month throughout Tasmania – please join in whenever you can and help us make this month a success.
