Dementia Australia's one-to-one Peer Support program connects you with someone who understands your challenges because they have been through a similar experience.
Connecting Peers:
- is delivered across Australia by volunteers known as Peer Leaders
- brings people together based on similar experiences and interests
- connects participants by phone or Zoom.
Peer Leaders are people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia; or caring for someone living with a diagnosis.
If you are living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia you will be matched with someone with the same diagnosis. A carer is matched to another carer.
Connecting Peers is available across Australia.
You can register to be connected with a Peer Leader or apply to become a volunteer Peer Leader. The minimum time commitment is just one hour per month over 6 months to make a call to your peer. We look forward to meeting you.
