Join us at Findon Community Centre for a special Dementia Action Week Morning Tea with the Western Journeys Dementia Friendly Group.
Dementia Action Week is a time to come together, break down stigma, and show that support and connection make a real difference. Whether you are living with dementia, supporting someone who is, or simply want to help build a more inclusive community -- everyone is welcome. Together, let’s enjoy good company, celebrate connection, and remember that nobody can do it alone.
At our Morning Tea, you’ll be welcomed into a friendly and supportive space where you can:
- Share conversation over a cuppa and light refreshments
- Join in games and activities designed to encourage connection
- Learn more about the Western Journeys Dementia Friendly Group, which meets monthly at Findon Community Centre
- Discover ways our community can be more dementia-friendly and inclusive
About Western Journeys Dementia Friendly Support Group:
Western Journeys is a group for people living with dementia and their carers. Co-convener Janet Thomas, who also lives with dementia, says: “A dementia-friendly community is about the people living with dementia, and the people who support them. We want to share how we can live with dignity, feel valued and retain our sense of purpose.”
At Western Journeys, members participate in activities and outings, share their stories, and support each other to live well with dementia. The group meets monthly at Findon Community Centre.
