University of Queensland (UQ) Healthy Living

QLD

UQ Healthy Living offers a range of wellness services to persons over age 50 in the community.

These services can improve physical health and mental wellbeing; help with managing life’s challenges; and connect members with a network of peers facing a similar journey.

UQ Healthy Living is particularly relevant for those living with chronic disease; experiencing reduced mobility; or looking to live the best life after 50. Services are delivered by an inter-professional team which includes UQ Allied Health students.

UQ Health Living sees itself as serving the Brisbane older adult community with tailored health and wellbeing services aimed at enhancing quality of life and social connection. We already deliver services to persons living with dementia (as well as persons living with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain disease and a variety of chronic illnesses) and this training will help us be able to deliver even bespoke person-directed services as well as a dementia-aware workforce in the form of the students we train.
