Dementia-Friendly Open Studio: Drop-in Art Chat and Make

Dementia friendly communities - community sessionCommunity eventsDementia-friendly communities

The Open Studio is a welcoming space for people whose lives are affected by dementia. Drop in at any time and take part in hands-on artmaking in a relaxed and supportive environment. A variety of materials will be available, with trained NGV Educators there to guide and assist as needed. Connect with others, explore creative activities at your own pace, and learn more about the dementia-friendly programs, resources and initiatives available at the NGV. No art skills or experience are required to participate.

To help us prepare for larger groups, please let us know if you are attending with more than 5 people. You can contact us via our online form.

The NGV also offers dementia-friendly programs for aged care services and other community groups supporting people living with dementia. These programs can be arranged by request, and fees apply. To enquire about a booking, please contact ngvenquiries@ngv.vic.gov.au or 03 8620 2222. Bookings are subject to availability.

The NGV gratefully acknowledges Karen McLeod Adair and Anthony Adair AM for their generous support of NGV’s dementia-friendly initiatives.
