Don’t Demention It – Dementia Café and Support Group

Dementia friendly communities - community sessionCommunity eventsDementia-friendly communities
Time
1:00pm- 3:00pm AEST

This group, based in Kyabram, provides a safe space where people living with dementia and their carers can have a chat, gain some information and enjoy an afternoon outing together.
Many people with dementia and their care partners become isolated as a result of dementia. This group comes together to break down the stigma often associated with this condition, at the same time providing opportunities for people to discuss issues they are experiencing, enjoy each other’s company and learn more about supports and services in their area. The group is instigated by Mick Simpson, a person living with dementia, in conjunction with staff from the Kyabram Community & Learning Centre Inc. and supported by the local District Health Services.
It meets at 1.00pm on the last Thursday of every month at the Kyabram Community & Learning Centre Inc.
New members are very welcome.
