Knox City Council
In partnership with Dementia Australia, Council delivers the Dementia Friendly Communities Program, which aims to increase awareness, understanding, and inclusion of people living with dementia, enabling them to remain active participants in community life.
Key initiatives include dementia awareness education sessions for local groups and businesses, advocacy for dementia-friendly community activities, and the provision of information and support resources for people living with dementia and their carers.
The Knox Dementia Alliance, established by Council, brings together people living with dementia, carers, community organisations, and service providers to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and promote a more inclusive and supportive community. The Alliance welcomes community members interested in contributing to dementia-friendly projects and advocacy across Knox.
