Dementia Advocates in Victoria were surveyed about the proposed new Victorian Disability Bill and the creation of a Commissioner for Disability Inclusion.

“A new and modernised Victorian legislation bill for disability inclusion is long overdue,” one respondent wrote in the survey.

Detail feedback from Advocates provided the basis for Dementia Australia’s submission in support of the new legislation.

Advocates also supported the need for a Commissioner for Disability Inclusion and the requirement for the appointment to be someone living with a disability.

Dementia Australia’s submission will inform the Government’s proposed legislation to promote disability inclusion and improve the lives of people living with disabilities, including cognitive disabilities, in Victoria.
