Advocates contribute to National Strategy for the Care and Support Economy

Advocates gave their views on quality in the care system, as well as the experiences of informal carers, as part of Dementia Australia’s submission to the Commonwealth Government.
The submission made two main arguments:
- That reforms to the paid care and support system should prioritise quality care outcomes.
- That the care and support economy relies on the enormous contribution of informal carers.
Dementia Australia will continue to advocate for quality care for people with dementia, including advocating for compulsory dementia education for care workers. We will also continue to advocate for support for informal carers.
The next online National Advocate Drop-in session on Tuesday 1 August will be on policy and we encourage you to attend if you’re available.
