Behind the scenes of Dementia Action Week

Dementia Advocate Bruce Weber shared how he’s working to make his community in regional South Australia more dementia-friendly in a video for this year’s Dementia Action Week campaign.
Bruce spoke about his local community centre in Murray Bridge, where he and other locals living with dementia meet regularly, and the changes they have made to make the space inclusive and welcoming for people impacted by dementia.
He encourages everyone to Act Now for a Dementia-Friendly Future to ensure people like him can get out and about so they are not isolated and stuck at home.
Bruce showed that it is not difficult for businesses and community organisations to make small changes that have a big impact on everyone accessing their services, including people living with dementia.
Dementia Advocates Natalie Ive and Phil Hazell will also feature in videos for the campaign.
