Dementia Australia staff and advocates at Seniors Expo

Dementia Advocates Kotchi Harrington, Col and Shirley Blake, Warwick Doughty and Nick Smith volunteered alongside staff at a Dementia Australia stall at the recent two-day Seniors Expo at Darling Harbour.

More than 25,000 people attended the two-day event which gave Dementia Advocates an invaluable opportunity to raise dementia awareness among the general public through sharing their living experience.

The Advocates also worked alongside a number of Dementia Australia staff who were disseminating information on Dementia Australia services and providing support and information to stall attendees.

Dementia Advocate Kotchi Harrington was able to speak in Mandarin and Thai to those attendees who spoke those languages, helping to make the experience more accessible.

The event was a great example of what can be achieved when Dementia Advocates work in partnership with the different areas of Dementia Australia.
