Congratulations to Graeme Barker OAM on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2024 Australia Day Honours List.
We are thrilled to see Graeme’s compassionate service to the Tasmanian communities of Port Sorrell and Penguin recognised.
Graeme is a Dementia Advocate and is also involved in the Connecting Peers program as a Peer Leader.
Graeme’s late wife Judith lived with dementia, and since her passing he has generously shared his experience and support with over 60 people from carer support groups and three people across Australia though our peer support program.
