Consultation on the performance of the NSW Guardian and Trustee
The New South Wales Audit Office recently held consultations and focus groups with 17 Dementia Advocates as part of an independent assessment of the performance of the NSW Guardian and Trustee.
The NSW Guardian and Trustee’s role is to support people in planning for their future legal, health and financial decision making. Advocates who have had experience with the agency shared their feedback, as well as insights into what they believed made for good customer service when it involved people with a lived experience of dementia.
The NSW Audit Office will use this information to develop a report on the performance of the NSW Guardian and Trustee. It is anticipated that this will lead to some improvements for people with a lived experience of dementia and other disabilities who are in contact with this agency.
