December 2024: Update from the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee

Hi everyone,
Well, here we are at the end of a very busy year. Time to take a short break and celebrate. Advocacy can be great fun, but we recognise that so many Advocates put lots of time and energy into spreading the word, and that it can be good to just relax and put it on the back burner for a couple of weeks. It’s great to know that we are all part of a big Team, around the country, working towards increasing awareness and support for those of us living with dementia and our care partners.
Christmas is a time for families and celebrations, though I think we all recognise that Christmas can be somewhat stressful and overwhelming at times. So, enjoy the holidays whilst making sure that you get some time out from the festivities and enjoy some self-care.
I’d like to take this opportunity to also thank Management and staff of Dementia Australia for being there when we need them – you have all earned a bit of a break.
As we say goodbye to 2024, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Here’s wishing that 2025 is filled with peace, joy and hope for all. Take care, everyone.
Warmest wishes,
Bobby Redman
