Kicking off a new Dementia Alliance in Findon, South Australia

Dementia Advocates Dr Janet Thomas and Patrick Frost were empowered to co-facilitate a community ‘It Starts With You’ workshop in their local area, in response to their interest in creating local dementia-friendly initiatives.

A total of 31 people attended the community session including five people living with dementia and 15 care partners.

Janet and Patrick shared their visions for the community, as well as heard ideas from others who had a connection to dementia.

Interested participants from the workshop have since formed the ‘Western Journey’ group, a social group where meaningful connections and activities can be created.
