National Advocate Drop-In: social media and advocacy

More than 40 Advocates attended our April advocate drop-in session which focused on advocacy and social media.
Dementia Advocates Phil Hazell and Sarah Ashton gave presentations on their use of Twitter and Facebook to further their own advocacy work.
Leisa Hurst from Dementia Australia’s Communications team also gave an overview of how the organisation uses social media to raise awareness about key issues around dementia.
People who attended the drop-in session got a range of new insights and knowledge from the sharing of ideas and connections that took place.
The next advocate drop in will take place during the week of 5 June and will again focus on a particular advocacy topic. All advocates are welcome to attend and will receive an email invitation. If you don’t receive this email, please feel free to contact the Consumer Engagement Coordinator for your state or territory.
