Dementia Advocates were well represented at this year’s National Dementia Conference, held in Melbourne on 23 – 24 June.

Seven advocates took to the podium and provided their insight into a diverse range of topics including:

  • Living with younger onset dementia,
  • Memory and the self: Implications for person-centred dementia care,
  • Strategies and initiatives for improving quality,
  • Person-centred care for First Nations and CALD communities living with dementia,
  • Life is not over after a dementia diagnosis,
  • The use of technology in retaining independence and confidence for a person living with dementia to stay in their own home and
  • The impact of dementia on relationships.

Our thanks to Natalie Ive, Isabelle Burke, Danijela Hlis, Gwenda Darling, Kevyn Morris and Dubhglas Taylor for sharing their stories and expertise at this important national conference.
