Dementia Advocates Scott Cooper, Bernadette Healey and Heather Cooper (no relation to Scott) have joined fellow Peer Leader Michael Aylward to star in a recruitment video for the Connecting Peers Program.

Connecting Peers is Dementia Australia's one-to-one peer support program that connects participants with someone who understands their challenges because they have been through a similar experience.

Peer Leaders volunteer their time to provide empathy and support from their own lived experience as someone who is living with dementia or caring for someone living with dementia.

In the video, the Advocates spoke about their motivation for joining the program and what they’ve gained from it.

Watch the video and email peer.support@dementia.org.au to find out how you can volunteer to be a Peer Leader.  You can also email us if you would like a Peer Leader to make contact with you.
