November 2023: Update from the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee

Wednesday, 29 November 2023Advocacy in Action
Dementia Australia Advisory Committee at a face to face meeting in South Australia.

Hello to all you Dementia Advocates,

It’s wonderful to see so many of you coming along to the online Advocate drop-in meetings. In November we looked at available resources, which created a lot of interest.

If you missed this session and would like to catch up on the discussions, there is a recorded version available. To access the recording, use passcode Sid?X712.

At the time of writing this we are looking forward to the first of the Strengthening Connections meetings. These will involve Advocates from various regional and remote areas having the opportunity to come together face to face. As mentioned previously, at this stage it is a pilot study involving eight areas around Australia, but we are looking forward to spreading this further if it produces the desired effect of proving closer networks for all Dementia Australia Advocates.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your advocacy work and to wish you and your families all the very best for the festive season.
