A Dementia Advocates working group is collaborating on the development of a resource to welcome and induct new Advocates to the Dementia Advocates Program.

The Dementia Australia Advisory Committee (DAAC) identified a gap in the accessibility and consistency of information provided to new advocates. The newly developed induction pack will provide practical information to new Advocates including contact details for the Consumer Engagement team and DAAC, real-life examples of advocacy activities and further learning opportunities.

It is anticipated that the information booklet for new advocates will help foster a sense of belonging to Dementia Australia, as well as increase understanding about the purpose, aims and intended outcomes of the Dementia Advocates Program.

This resource will be shared with all Advocates for their reference when it is completed.
