Dementia Australia’s Family and Community Coordinator Miriam Cleary and Community Development Officer Emil Almazan spent a week in Katherine in the Northern Territory spreading the word about the Dementia Advocates, Connecting Peers and Dementia-Friendly Communities programs.

More than 50 people visited the Dementia Australia stall at the Council on the Ageing (COTA) NT Expo, receiving information and resources.

A Dementia Australia display was also set up in the Katherine Community Library, an organisation that is interested in becoming a dementia-friendly organisation.

Additionally, a presentation at the Katherine Seniors Group saw 15 members actively participate in group discussions and an invitation to return in June.
