Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Evaluation Study

This evaluation aims to understand how we can help improve the ACVVS for both recipients and service providers. 

As part of the study, we need help to recruit older people who receive government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care packages to participate.

The survey has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of Monash University (ID number 38678)

Participation

People who meet the following criteria may be eligible to participate; 

  • aged 65 years or more
  • receive government-subsidised residential aged care OR Home Care Packages or are approved or on the National Priority Scheme for residential or home care packages.
     

Participation involves:

  • completing a short survey (approximately 25 minutes)
  • completing a a follow-up survey in 12 months

The survey includes questions about demographic details, social activities, well-being, and health and can be done online (with the assistance of a carer, friend, or family member), over the telephone with a researcher, or (limited to some states/areas) in-person with a researcher.
