Carers Way Ahead Dementia: An on-line support program for families of a person with dementia

This is an online, 10-week education program for carers of people living with dementia. The program aims to help people cope with changed behaviours in dementia, and help them respond to these behaviours in helpful ways. 

This study has been approved the UNSW Human Research Ethics Committee (Project Reference: iRECS7513)

Participation

People who meet the following criteria may be eligible to participate:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Is an informal carer of a person living with dementia
  • Has access to a computer 
  • Is fluent in English 

Participation Details:

Participation will involve viewing and completing the participant information statement and consent form (around 5 minutes). Then, completing some pre-program questionnaires (around 20 minutes). After this, participants will have self-paced access to the education program for 10 weeks. This program consistence of 10 modules, each around 10-20 minutes long. Most modules are optional, and deal with different changed behaviours. Finally, participants will do some post-program questionnaires (around 20 minutes) to establish the efficacy of the program and provide feedback on any improvements we can make. 


Participant duration

~40 minutes of questionnaires (total) and 10x 10-20 minute educational modules over 10 weeks
