Development of Dementia-DOOR a novel consumer led outcome measure for interventional trials in dementia

Royal Melbourne Hospital

We are developing a new way to measure outcomes in dementia research called Dementia-DOOR (Desirability of Outcome Ranking). We want to make sure it includes outcomes that matter to people living with dementia and their carers.

This project has human research ethics approval from The University of Melbourne Project ID 33239.

Participation

People with living or lived experience of dementia are invited to participate.

Participants will need to have decision making capacity to consent to participate in the project and capacity to complete the online survey.

If you agree to participate, you will:

  • Attend a 1-hour online group discussion with other people with dementia and carers. We'll talk about outcomes used in dementia research and get your views.
  • Complete a 20-minute online survey to rank a list of outcomes.
  • Attend a 1-hour follow-up online meeting to discuss the survey results and vote on the final version of Dementia-DOOR.
