The experiences of young caregivers of people living with dementia

This study seeks to understand the experiences of younger people caring for a family member living with dementia. We’re interested in understanding what being a younger family carer of someone with dementia has been like, and what impact those experiences have had.

 

This study has been approved by the Victoria University Human Research Committee. Ethics approval # HRE25-111.

Participation

Young caregivers (aged 18-35) of people living with dementia may be eligible to participate in this study. 

Participation involves a confidential in-person or Zoom video interview between the participant and the researcher which will take around 60 minutes. The researcher will audio record the interview and take detailed notes. 

The data will be transcribed verbatim and analysed. Audio recordings will be securely destroyed at the end of the study.
