Pain Assessment in Hospital Emergency Departments: Insights from family Carers of People Living with Dementia

This project aims to explore the lived experiences of family carers of people living with dementia regarding pain assessment and management in Western Australian hospital emergency departments. 

This research project has received the approval of Edith Cowan University’s Human Research Ethics Committee (2025-07133-SAUNDERS)

Participation

People who meet the following criteria may be eligible to participate in an interview;

  • A family carer of a person living with dementia and has accompanied that person to an hospital emergency department in Western Australia in the past 6 months 
  • Over 18 years of age
  • English speaking 

Interviews can be conduced online or in person at the Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Campus.


Participant duration

30-60 minute interview
