Sleep Enhancement Preferences of Older Adults and People Living with Dementia

The aim of this project is to explore what influences your ability and willingness to engage with sleep management strategies. We want to know how you choose between different treatments that your doctor or another healthcare professional could prescribe or recommend. It includes medications and non-medication treatments like so-called sleep hygiene, exercise. 

This study has been approved by Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee 19/02/25 (Project ID: 45932)

Participation

We are looking for people who have had or currently have sleeping problems. 

You can take part if you are:
• over the age of 18, fluent in English, and care for (or cared for) someone with dementia OR
• over the age of 18, fluent in English, have dementia, and have had or currently have) sleeping problems OR
• over the age of 65, fluent in English, and have had or currently have sleeping problems 

Participation involves a 30-60 minute interview or focus group, which will be either online or in-person.

approximately 30-60 minutes
