Supporting the Ethical Use of Innovative Technologies in Dementia Care

University of Queensland

Innovative technology, such as pet robots and virtual reality, are increasingly used in dementia care to improve psychological and social wellbeing. However, we do not know enough about how these technologies can be used respectfully and ethically to support people with dementia in residential care.

To help us understand how to use these technologies ethically, we would like to have a chat with people with dementia, their family members, and aged care staff to understand their experiences and/or thoughts.

This study has been approved by The University of Queensland Human research Ethics Committee (2025/HE000459)
