Understanding the hospital discharge experiences of families with children requiring complex care

This project, led by the University of Melbourne and the Genetic Support Network of Victoria (GSNV), explores hospital discharge experiences for families of children with complex genetic care needs. Specifically, the project aims to understand the barriers and enablers parents and caregivers face during hospital discharge, with the goal of improving discharge processes and supporting advocacy efforts.

You will be eligible to participate within this study if you are a parent or primary caregiver of a child with complex genetic care needs within Australia who has been discharged by a complex care team within the last two years.

If you take part in this research, you will have a one-on-one Zoom (video) interview. The interview will last for 30-60 minutes and will focus on your child’s hospital discharge experiences and transition to life away from the hospital.
