What is dementia?
Dementia describes a collection of symptoms that are caused by disorders affecting the brain. It is not one specific disease.
Dementia affects thinking, behaviour and the ability to perform everyday tasks. Brain function is affected enough to interfere with the person’s normal social or working life.

Catch up with a Dementia Support Specialist
We are accepting expressions of interest to catch up one-to-one with one of our Dementia Support Specialists while we are in town. Various timings will be available across Sun 25, Mon 26 & Tues 27 Feb.
Dementia Essentials (for professionals)
Across 16 hours of orientation and training and 7 hours of assessment, strategies are explored to assist with good communication, apply person-centred principles, create a supportive environment, develop appropriate activities, and understand changed behaviour in people living with dementia.
