If you’re part of a social, sporting, spiritual or any other kind of community group, there are some simple things you can do to make your group more inclusive of people living with dementia.

Depending on your group, you can adapt your venue, your activities and the way you communicate to help people living with dementia better participate.

Become a dementia-inclusive community group

The first step to becoming an inclusive group is for its members to become Dementia Friends. You can do that here:

Once you’re all Dementia Friends, you can register your group using the form below. The Dementia-Friendly Communities team will reach out to you to help you. You'll get:

  • support from Dementia-Friendly Communities team
  • the chance to connect with other inclusive groups for inspiration and collaboration
  • a suite of tools and resources to guide you
  • a listing on our Dementia-Friendly Community Groups directory
  • the chance to be promoted on our Dementia-Friendly Community stories page.
