This nationally-accredited course is designed to assist workers supporting people living with dementia. Strategies are explored to assist with good communication, planning, developing appropriate activities and understanding changed behaviour in people living with dementia.
By successfully completing this nationally recognised unit, you will gain a comprehensive knowledge of dementia and receive a formal Statement of Attainment.
On completion of this accredited course you will develop an understanding of:
- the nature of dementia
- the impact of dementia
- effective communication strategies
- purposeful and meaningful engagement
- the environment of care and a person-centred approach to support
- understanding changed behaviours and developing effective responses
- the application to care practices and reporting requirements
