Advocates share their stories at Parliament House

Our thanks to all who attended the Parliamentary Friends of Dementia event either in person at Parliament House in Canberra or online.
Dementia Advocates Bronte Parkin and Cam Stewart joined the panel for an engaging discussion exploring the benefits of embedding compulsory dementia education within the health and aged care workforce.
Watch a recording of the event.
An objective of the Parliamentary Friends of Dementia events is to elevate the voices of people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Sue Watts is a Dementia Advocate and wanted to attend the recent event at Parliament House, however as she is the sole carer for her husband who is living with dementia in residential aged care, she was unable to travel to Canberra.
Instead, Sue has shared generous insights into her experience of caring for her husband and offered her thoughts on the importance of embedding dementia education within the aged care workforce via this video message.
