Advocates spread awareness in Orange, NSW

Dementia Australia recently delivered a range of innovative and high-quality programs and information sessions to the Orange community in NSW’s central west.
The active involvement of Dementia Advocates Russell Martin, Keith Davies, Peter Swindell and Catherine Windsor were integral to the success of this brain hub.
Russell was involved in all sessions and provided invaluable insights into his lived experience of younger onset dementia. He also organised a breakfast gathering of Dementia Australia staff and the local Rotary Club.
Peter Swindell and Keith Davies addressed the Orange Dementia Alliance on how to build, develop and maintain a dementia-friendly garden drawing on their experience and involvement in such garden projects.

The involvement of Dementia Advocates helped to ensure that brain hub participants and local service providers were better informed and resourced about all aspects of dementia.
Other brain hub events will be coming to regional areas across the country. If you are interested in being involved in future events, please get in touch with the Consumer Engagement Coordinator representing your state or territory.
