‘Loving someone with dementia’ is the October ‘Pick of the Month’

Loving someone with dementia can be, at times, challenging. But there are many ways to find hope and for the October Library Pick of the Month, our librarians have chosen this resource to help and inspire caregivers.
In ‘Loving Someone Who Has Dementia’, Dr Pauline Boss outlines how to manage ongoing stress and grief and this is a great resource for caregivers, family members and friends, as well as educators and professionals.
Dr Boss helps caregivers find hope in ‘ambiguous loss’ - having a loved one both here and not here, physically present but psychologically absent. She outlines seven guidelines to stay resilient while caring for someone who lives with dementia and discusses the meaning of relationships with individuals who are cognitively impaired.
