Natalie Ive joins the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee

We’re delighted to announce Natalie Ive has recently been appointed as the newest member of the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee, which provides a national platform for people living with dementia to advocate alongside Dementia Australia on matters important to them. 

Natalie, who is 50 and lives in Melbourne, has younger onset dementia and primary progressive aphasia. She is a former special education/early years childhood teacher who is passionate about guiding children with disabilities to be confident learners.    

Natalie joined Dementia Australia’s Dementia Advocates Program in September 2019 and believes that sharing her story as a Dementia Advocate is key to raising awareness of the challenges that she has faced. 

“I’m excited to be selected as a Dementia Australia Advisory Committee member and to bring my skills and experience to the committee as someone living with primary progressive aphasia/younger onset dementia,” Natalie said. 

“I look forward to working together as a team and contributing to the pursuit for all people living with dementia to be heard, treated with respect, and be treated equally in terms of our given human rights.”
