Dementia Australia Advisory Committee member Kevyn Morris took time this month to yarn with community members in Katherine in the Northern Territory as part of the Strengthening Connections project.

Kevyn shared his experience of the early signs of dementia and his diagnosis as well as the importance of the indigenous voice.

For those who have dementia and the carers who look after those with dementia it is not until you meet and talk to different people that you learn how little you know and how every person's story is different,” he said.

Kevyn also spoke about the need for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee.

In exciting news, the Strengthening Connections project has now been extended for a further 12 months and will expand into new locations across the country. To find out more, please read the latest DAAC update.
