Many older adults take multiple medications, and some of these may no longer be safe or appropriate for them, which can increase the risk of falls, confusion, or hospital visits.

People living with frailty or dementia face even higher risks and may find managing multiple medications more challenging.

This project aims to understand what matters most to older adults living with frailty and dementia when managing multiple medications.

This study has been approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee (ID 51517)

Participation

Have your say on managing multiple medications

Are you, or someone you care for:

  • Aged 65+ (or 50+ for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples),
  • Taking 5 or more medications daily, and
  • Requiring assistance with daily activities (e.g., using a walking aid, cooking, cleaning, bathing)?

You, or your carer, are invited to join a 2-hour small group discussion about prioritising what matters most when managing multiple medications.

Attend the group discussion on Zoom or in person, depending on what suits you best. An honorarium will be provided for your time.
